This is a portrait of one of my favorite photographers, Robert Frank, and his wife. This was taken by another favorite photographer of mine, Elliot Erwitt. I love the intimacy in this image. It's an honest peek at a private, loving moment between two people. I think about this image a lot while I'm photographing couples.
This is one of my photographs that is heavily inspired by Elliott Erwitt.
Elliott Erwitt, Santa Monica, California (1955)
This is another image by Elliot Erwitt. These images resonate so completely with me that they have become embedded into my psyche and influence how I express myself through photography. I intend to use this blog to not only inform clients about my aesthetic and what moves me visually, but I will also use it to sharpen my saw, so to speak. Photographing takes practice just like tennis or yoga. Talking about your own work and the work of others takes practice as well. This blog will serve as my practice wall/sun salutation, depending on which analogy works best for you.
